Get to Know	Beyond Gourmet Beyond Gourmet is a registered trademark of A. V. Olsson Trading Co., a business owned and operated by the Olsson family. Founder Adolf Viktor Olsson was born on his family's farm in Sweden in 1897. From farming to packing, the family was very involved in their local food business. Adolf immigrated to the US in 1926, settling in Brooklyn. He began importing food from his brothers and sold it door-to-door. Adolf worked hard through the depression, managing to grow his business into stores and eventually to Wagon Jobbers, a term used for specialty food distributors at the time. Adolf's son Lennart joined the business in 1954, and then his son, Kenneth, in 1979. A. V. Olsson Trading Co. still does business with some of its original accounts created by Adolf. A great story of an immigrant entrepreneur and his family-owned business. Serves as inspiration to this aspiring food distribution/retail business.
