Oatmeal…any way you like itFeb. 15th

I remember the days of instant oatmeal in a packet. I never once took into consideration any of the ingredients. Do you know that most of those little packets contain GM (genetically modified) corn syrup and/or soy lecithin and a bunch of additives and preservatives? Not to mention the “fruit” is hardly fruit but a whole bunch of crap dyed and flavored to mimic the real deal. Sure, it’s supper easy to rip open a packet but at what price?

I took to the kitchen this morning and made oatmeal for our family of four. It took about 15 minutes. Yes, you need to grab a few ingredients and put them together, but in the end you’ll be happy to know you’re feeding yourself and loved ones good wholesome food. Something as simple as oatmeal can be a good first step to transforming an old habit. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain. Please just try.

Radical Homemaker Quick Tip
Did you know it’s illegal to grow hemp in the US? It’s actually absurd considering that Presidents Washington and Jefferson mandated that Americans grow it during the colonial era and early republic. The USDA had even produced a film “Hemp for Victory” to encourage US farmers to grow hemp during World War II. Regardless of where you stand on the legalization of marijuana, we should all come to agree that hemp (which contains no THC), due to its many purposes and agricultural benefits, is indeed a weed that could save America.

Nutiva and Dr. Bronner’s happen to be two companies that fully support and stand behind the cultivation of industrial hemp. Be sure to check them out.
