Farmer Ground Flour is a partnership between two organic grain farms in Tompkins County, NY - Cayuga Pure Organics in Brooktondale and Oechsner Farms in Newfield. The company formed to give the farmers an opportunity to market their products locally and to meet the growing demand for locally grown organic foods. Farmer Ground Flour is a collaboration between Erick Smith of Cayuga Pure Organics and Thor Oechsner of Oechsner Farms – the farmers that grow the grain - and Greg Mol, the farmer who mills the grains. The mill is co-owned by the farmers and is located in Trumansburg, NY. It’s obvious these guys are committed to organic agriculture and to the development of a sustainable agricultural economy. As they state, “Farmer Ground Flour is about people, about land, about agriculture, and about building a sustainable and sustaining future.” We love it, fellas – keep farming!
